why delivery drives us

If you read our previous blog we’re not a dog walking company, you understand the path that led us to our new brand identity and specifically our new brand promise and tagline, Delivery Drives Us

As we discussed in our last post, each component of our branding took dedicated time. With our tagline, we must have sorted through dozens of statements before finding the one that truly drove home (pun intended) our “WHY” as a company.

Delivery Drives Us could not embody Fetch more. It’s the reason we get out of bed and do what we do every single day. It’s the reason our operations team moves at 150%. The reason our sales team will hit the ground running to help with delivery. And our support team is up until all hours of the night searching for a single resident’s package. It takes a village, and for our village it all comes back to one idea. At Fetch, we believe a package is so much more than a box. And thus to further expand on this idea, and truly create an internal rally cry, our brand manifesto was born.

We believe a package is so much more than a box.

Our service is purposefully designed for humans by humans. And because we understand the emotions humans are filled with, we understand the joy a package can bring. We also understand how valuable time is and the importance of timely delivery. Because we’re human, we don’t just see a box. We see valued items that we need to safely carry through their journey to be delivered into the hands of their rightful owners.

It’s a moment we look forward to.

The process of delivery comes in waves and with every arrival, an emotion of joy releases. It’s a moment we anticipate. Waiting anxiously, checking, tracking, hoping for an earlier delivery. And if you’re like us, the minute it arrives, opening every box like it’s your birthday. Of course, we’re excited about what’s inside, but the moment of seeing it’s actually delivered, might be just as exciting.

It says things like, “You’ve earned this,” “I miss you,” “I love you,” and keeps us connected.

We crave to be connected, to be thought of. Whether it be an everyday essential item or a caring gift to yourself or a friend. Delivery says things like “You’ve earned this,” “I miss you,” “I love you.” And in a state where many are feeling the power of isolation, it allows us to stay connected.

Traveling across miles—maybe oceans—over roads and through cities. That’s where we come in to see the journey through.

Package delivery sounds so simple, right? I mean not the linehaul, sort centers, distribution centers, logistics-piece behind delivery. But the act of ordering and receiving. As consumers, we expect things to be seamlessly delivered at the drop of a pin. We live in a world with Amazon 1-click buy, same-day delivery, even 1-hour delivery. We have our groceries delivered, dry cleaning delivered, literally anything can be delivered. But we’ve also now experienced a pandemic that has truly magnified the complexity of the process and the complications that can come in play. At fetch, we strive to continue making this process perfectly seamless so our consumers can focus on one thing, the joy of receiving.

So we keep moving forward, through blizzards and heat waves. Building strength we didn’t know we had.

This statement is probably the most literal statement in our manifesto. There have been countless times that the majority of delivery services were shut down due to weather conditions, but the Fetch team kept pushing forward (safely, of course) bringing on every level of the company to guarantee arrival. As we’ll deliver anything that’s in a box, including furniture, we’ve found strength that we didn’t know we had, carrying couches up several flights of stairs. Continuously reminding ourselves of the joy that lies on the other end of the delivery with every step.

And treating every package as important as the person receiving it.

This statement is probably the most important statement in our manifesto and passionately concludes the idea for why a package is so much more than a box. They are people’s personal belongings. They are essential items, gifts, and messages. And we treat them with the gentleness and care that we would handle our own personal belongings with. The positive force of being a human-centric company, is that we truly care about our customers, and seeing delivery through is our most important job.

Full Manifesto:

A package is so much more than a box. It’s a moment we look forward to. It’s the start of a relationship or a gift from an old friend; a shiny new toy or an everyday essential. It says things like, “You’ve earned this,” “I miss you,” “I love you.” It keeps us connected and keeps driving us forward. Traveling across miles—maybe oceans—over roads and through cities. That’s where we come in, to see the journey though. To make sure each package brings joy to the person receiving it. Because it feels good to bring joy to our fellow humans. So we keep moving forward, through the blizzards and heat waves. Building strength we didn’t know we had. Humbly giving people these little moments of joy. And treating every package as important as the person receiving it. Because a package is so much more than just a box.
